Review: The Matchmaker and The Marine

The Matchmaker and The Marine The Matchmaker and The Marine by Lucinda Race
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

He seems to know enough people at this wedding.

Ooh, who's Anita?

I guess a matchmaker needs a bit of psychology as well.

Quiet, isn't he.

He has manners, I like that.

She's easily pleased yet very impatient.

How else do you make iced tea?

Susan is crazy.

They are basically dating at this point. Pet rescue and food sharing seals it.

Whoa, really? That's so cool!

Holy mixed messages, woman.

Poor Diana.

My grandma put ketchup on spaghetti.

I'm so happy she didn't get all angsty on him.

Anita is a twat.

That guy was a butthead. Sorry, Mary.

Review: The Way Back to You

The Way Back to You The Way Back to You by Sharon Sala
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

His parents couldn't have mentioned it at least once?

Marilyn is nice.

He really is travelling the country.

Well that's a helluva welcome.

Small world!

Attagirl, Barb.

Poor Billy.

How are you all walking with that many diamonds weighing you down?

Ha! We finally find out how Peanut got his name!

Ooh, who's the hiker?

Elliott has unsuspected depths, to quote Jimmy Stewart.

Everybody's so cool about this up in the hills.

Good speech.

Yay!

Okay, I hate his adoptive parents.

I want to see this cake.

Mmm, dolmas.

Fate is fate.

Haha, poor Chet.

I feel a little bad for Hoover.

Lovey and Marc will get back together.

Review: Risk It All

Risk It All Risk It All by Katie Ruggle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First she enters a potential murderer's room, now she's concerned for his health?

At least she has some instincts.

Oh yeah, he's real murder-y.

She's got creepy Stuart at school and random cars trying to kill her. Great.

How does he know Stuart's last name?

Norah sounds resigned.

What is her kidnapper waiting for?

Honey, do you have any defensive driving skills? No.

She's a good sister.

These are really great action sequences.

Clever!

I don't get people who don't wear watches.

Life was my game.

He is so an undercover agent.

Ha, double negative!

At least this police force is not corrupt like the Langston one.

Haha!

I love research.

She really saved the day.

I loved this book. It needs to be a movie,

Review: The Family Journal

The Family Journal The Family Journal by Carolyn Brown
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I feel sorry for parents in these situations. The threat of going to live with the other parent is always there.

Victoria sounds like a twat.

If it was my mother, she would have slapped me.

I so would not like Adam.

Whoa, Sally has some serious kid juju.

It's not the love of your life if your twin brother can steal her away.

I like the Civil War storyline.

How old do you think your mother is, Braden? Outhouses?

Holly sure gets polite when she wants something.

Attaboy, Braden.

Aw, Isaac is a cutie.

Is ignorance bliss?

The Torres parents did good. Rose and Ivy's, not so much.

Such a twat. Wyatt and Adam should form a club.

Well, her life would have been better, but without Wyatt, there is no Holly and Braden.

Son-of-a! I hope she has her toe-bending hands warmed up for round two.

I know, honey. But calm down before we both have a heart attack.

"Reclaim your balls," ha!

Okay, I like the principal.

Poor Sally, this is a lot of responsibility.

I love the music that Ms. Brown introduces me to with every book.

Review: The Highlander's Christmas Bride

The Highlander's Christmas Bride The Highlander's Christmas Bride by Vanessa Kelly
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Just call her Maria.

Who wants to marry their cousin?

Ah, sexual tension disguised as loathing.

The Great Silence sounds nice in theory.

So much intrigue.

Who the heck is Mungo?

Jeez, good thing she was awake!

I guess chamber pots were useful, but ew.

Oh, his wife was Native?

All that fuss for nothing. There is no way he is going to get turned on by that foot.

From being a nun to sharing a bed with a man, all in less than a week.

You stink, Papa.

Ouch. I can see why that would be a kick in the pants for Nick.

He's six, Angus.

So, basically, Mungo was butt-hurt, and that caused a feud? Men.

I can't imagine not celebrating Christmas.

Pouring it on a bit thick, Eden.

We have Duck, Duck, Goose and Tag. Same thing.

Take that, witch.

Er, what's so bad about the widow?

Alec and Edie are a fun couple.

She doesn't play. I love it.

This is the best dinner party ever.

Like she put his thing in her. Oh, boy, what a daddy's boy.

What a brave boy.

Plot twist.

Oy, Roddy gives me a headache.

A very nice ending.

Review: All Fired Up

All Fired Up All Fired Up by Lori Foster
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is kind of stalkerish.

Prison?

Haha, Ros sounds like she's bipolar right now!

Poor man was just trying to be a good son.

You rock, Brodie.

He's practically a triplet.

Glad to know they're still picking up creepy things for their clients.

Poor doggie.

Yeah, you're a real prince, Newman.

Holy plot twist.

Bernie is such an idiot.

I hope Grant actually has a chance.

I'm proud of him, too.

Good boy, Brute!

Drop dead, Newman.

Haha, poor Ros has gotten herself into a pickle!

She really wants to marry him!

Review: This Earl of Mine

This Earl of Mine This Earl of Mine by Kate Bateman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A lot of information in the first few pages.

One: Ew, her cousin. Two: You know it's bad when a dirty criminal is the better option.

I learned something new.

The first time a man has been disqualified as a suitor because he's too healthy.

I hope this marriage is legal.

Yikes, is that true? It's much easier to get an annulment now.

Ha, "squashy lumps"...

Is he above umbrellas?

Poor Simeon. Yeesh.

I hear you, Ben.

This is so cool! And I love how she appreciates it.

Shoot, she should get a medal.

For the love of Pete! She knows about scurvy prevention but can't figure out that her husband's handwriting has changed?

Revenge is hers!

Hopefully her mother will calm down when there are grandchildren.

Poor couple keeps getting cock-blocked.

Take that, ton!

Review: Soldier's Christmas Secrets

Soldier's Christmas Secrets Soldier's Christmas Secrets by Laura Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Why doesn't he tell her?

I hear you, kid. Teakettles are annoying.

He is ready for anything.

How did he do that?

They should check the car for bugs.

Has she never heard of corruption?

They can so arrest you, man. Who are you?

Review: This Reminds Me of Us

This Reminds Me of Us This Reminds Me of Us by Julia Gabriel
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Her childhood sounds stressful.

Ollie is sweet.

Back to reality.

She didn't get her trust fund? Is that legal?

Goodness gracious. At least she remembers her husband.

Cam has my sister's birthday.

I can control my dreams like that.

If he had cheated, I'd have to kill him.

He could have brought the gifts to the hospital so she could wrap some.

He's jealous of a dead man.

Memories are tricky, even if you don't have amnesia.

I did not know the bomber had a name.

I hope Cassidy is alright.

Ben didn't seem the type, but what, Serena did?

His self-esteem is really low.

It would serve him right if she did leave him.

Fancy!

Nana is just haunting people left and right.

Such an idiot.

Attaboy, Cam!

Review: Search and Destroy

Search and Destroy Search and Destroy by Julie Rowe
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

"Almost" his boss should be a deterrent.

This hospital needs a metal detector.

I wish I had that memory technique.

At least she had enough sense to be wary.

How old is she?

I had no idea measles was so scary.

Rawley, who died and made you God?

Burn. Damn, girl!

What's with the high-protein meals?

I don't think he is smothering her at all.

Poor Ketner. It was obvious, but it's still sad.

I wonder if there will be another book.

Review: A Highlander Walks Into a Bar

***

A souvenir, indeed.

It sounds like the festival is definitely a burden, when it should be fun.

Wow, his mom is a piece of work. Literally. American tart?

To be fair, I would have assumed she was talking about hot tea and I'm American.

She needs more backbone.

How long do they think they can keep this charade up?

Nothing like talk of cannibalism to inspire romance.

Who needs a crow call?

Oy.

She could just go home to America before July.

Review: Tangled Threat

Tangled Threat Tangled Threat by Heather Graham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Poor Gyselle!

Ponce de Leon claimed to have found the Fountain of Youth.

From being arrested to the FBI?

Angie Parsons needs a chill-pill.

Carl Tanzler was so creepy!

Oy. He needs to learn how to talk to people.

Poor Katie.

Yeesh, Nils, Marie and Donald are all suspects in my book.

Angie, wait for a press conference!

Rachel went from bubbly ditz to Debbie Downer.

Holy moly!

Aww.

Review: I've Got You, Babe

I've Got You, Babe I've Got You, Babe by Lynnette Austin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

He has PTSD and probably OCD.

Surely there's a doctor?

The baby's sick as well? That's horrible.

Such a cute kid.

Oh, boy. What are the chances...

That is a cute truck.

Be careful what you wish for.

That's a good idea. Now if only she could tell him about her dad.

This wedding took a lot of planning!

Review: A Rainbow Above Us

A Rainbow Above Us A Rainbow Above Us by Sharon Sala
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Helluva welcome home.

Remind me never to make him angry.

This is his grandfather?

Poor guy, having to demo his childhood home.

Surely, they could have given Rowan a key to the nursing home door.

What if she had gotten hurt and needed an ambulance? Was her father planning on being within reach for the rest of her life?

He is really good at this shopping thing.

The sooner Judson is dead, the better for this whole family.

Ha! Meta.

So much craziness.

Attagirl, Ruby!

Good for you, Junior.

Review: Back to Eden: Christian Military Romance Suspense

Back to Eden: Christian Military Romance Suspense Back to Eden: Christian Military Romance Suspense by Rebecca Hartt
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The prologue is exciting.

Nice car for a SEAL.

It sounds like he was a douche.

I think something corrupt is going on with his CO.

She could stand to have a little more compassion. Why did she even marry him in the first place?

Shut it, Nina.

Jeez, he's worth more dead than alive!

I knew something was going on.

Oh, Santiago is good.

I want to be Charlotte when I grow up.

For the love of Pete, Miriam!

Slow your roll, Santiago.

Duh, people.

Good job, Lloyd!

That was a wonderful prayer.
